Part 2-The 2nd Hunger Games

Mayor Lillian Rosebrand stood in front of District 11’s youths, remembering the youths the previous year. Flora had returned home as a revival and was living quietly with her family, while Bloomer had been robbed of a chance for revival despite making it far enough to be revived since he had been stabbed in the head.

Mayor Rosebrand chose the name of twelve year old Violetta Berryhill. Loud crying was heard as a tiny girl with dark skin and braids began begging not to be reaped, causing tears to roll down Mayor Rosebrand’s face. Violetta’s parents had been executed for rebellion, leading Violetta to be raised by her two older brothers and her older sister.

Mayor Rosebrand gathered herself before reaching into the male bowl, selecting the name of sixteen year old Hedge Duverne, watching as a taller young man with dark skin and an afro stepped up to the stage. Hedge was one of six siblings born to a middle class family, and he was known for his good natured attitude, smiling even after being reaped.

On the train Violetta and Hedge allied with Aneeta and Stephan, enjoying the meal. Hedge said that he didn’t want to kill his allies to win, causing Violetta and Aneeta to start crying and causing Stephan to clench his jaw, calling the Games “a monstrosity of pure cruelty and evil.”
