Is my insurance invalid if I’ve got no MOT & do I tell my insurer this?
I’m hoping someone can help me with a question about car insurance and MOTs.
My car’s MOT expired on 20 December 2025 and I totally forgot. Today, while stationary on a dual carriageway (due to heavy snow and being blocked by another vehicle that was stuck and also stationary), another car hit me from behind. My insurance is fully comprehensive.
I’m wondering, will the expired MOT affect my insurance claim, even though I was stationary and the accident was clearly the other driver’s fault?
Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated! 🙏
