Camera buying guide. Total beginner. Any tips?

Camera Buying Advice

I am a contractor audio engineer but would like to become a multifaceted media specialist and include photography into my portfolio as it is one of the last few I would like to really get good at. I've been very interested for as long as i can remember but have never had the time to commit to photography in any capacity other than a few iPhone snapshots here and there due to being so focused on my audio engineering career. Something that could cover event snapshots and still images would be very nice to invest into and potentially something I can use even later down the line as a nice backup camera or of the sort. would also appreciate some lens guides as well

My budget is around $1500 USD.

I have no equipment as I would be a total beginner. any tips for some equipment to grab as well?

I'd be primarily shooting events such as music festivals or corporate events as it would fit into what I currently do now. I would also like to do some nice street photography but would make that a secondary shooting skill. If there is a camera that can cover both that would be great but for now I am just focusing on event and festivals.

This is just for a photography heavy focus. I'd like to also practice video skills as well but photo will just be the main focus as of now. A hybrid would be a nice recommendation but if its more photo special camera then I'd have no complaints about that lol.

Thank you all!!
