THE GOOD, BAD AND UGLY: If you had laparoscopic and/or robotic excision, what was your experience?
I have appointments coming up with doctors (if you're curious, I'm seeing this one, this one, and this one) for endometriosis consults. I'll schedule a diagnostic surgery + removal with whoever seems the best.
I know several things:
- I only want excision, NOT ablation.
- I want laparoscopic or robotic excision, NOT open surgery.
- Due to my chronic bloating symptoms, I likely have extra-pelvic endo, like on the bowels, for example. I need a surgeon who is very experienced in extra-pelvic removal.
I am very scared, though. This will be the first surgery I've had in my life.
Is laparoscopic or laparoscopic-robotic surgery more effective? What is the recovery process of each? And I hear a lot of people never have the surgical gas leave their stomach—is this avoidable in some way?
Any help you provide is comforting a girl all the way in Texas who is so close to getting answers and finding healing. Thank you ❤️
