What drill should I get as a new home owner?

I recently bought a condo and have been using a small cheap note name 8V Cordless Electric Screwdriver for my tasks. I changed all the door handles with it, but when I get to about 80% of the screw it starts skipping and I have to use it a hand screw diver to drive the rest of the screw for the door handles.

It's not a big deal but it'd be nice to have more torque for tasks like this.

I probably wouldn't use the drill for much other than stuff around the condo such a drilling holes or assembling furniture. Mainly tasks around the house.

Now... Is it even worth getting a cordless electric drill for my use case?

If so, which one would you recommend? I was thinking of spending a bit extra and getting brushless but is that even worth it for me? I'd rather spend a bit extra for better quality then buy twice.

Thank you!
