Best way to get Submariner 124060 in 2026

Looking to purchase my first Rolex and have decided on the base no-date Submariner 124060.

I live in a small market area in update NY and got “on the list” with a local AD, but being new to Rolex, I’m skeptical of the whole retail process. I’m OK with a reasonable wait, but I don’t feel confident it would even happen at all. It’s like a… maybe… we’ll let you know (maybe?…) kind of deal.

I somewhat understand the “grey market,” or reseller idea, but I wanted to ask if there is a best method of getting one at a decent price these days. I’ve been looking on eBay but would appreciate any advice or if there are better ways.
