Spam caller id not identifying incoming spam calls

Got a new unlocked s25. I have caller id and spam protection turned on though hiya. I also have my default caller id and spam app set to phone. However, whenever I get incoming calls, the number is not being identified as spam/potential spam. Anyone know what the issue can be?
