Taking resisting hunger for granted..
So I’ve had an ED for some time,
since my early teens, I am an adult now.
As a teen/youth, I took feeling hungry for granted.
The power it took to resist it for so long.
To fight against my body’s biology.
Eating is normal, it is for life.
I have ignored it for so many years.
The same way I ignored those telling me to accept the help offered to me then, as it wouldn’t be there forever.
They were right, the number eighteen makes accessing services so much harder.
.
And the worst part is, I have access to way more than many and still take it for granted.
Just like I did my hunger.
I have gone so long ignoring it, it stopped being abnormal not to feel it.
It is harder to feed a body that no longer craves food, than to feed one desperate for it.
I wish I hadn’t taken my want to eat for granted, as now I spend time searching for it.
