Physical symptoms, normal tests, and no sleep, could this be anxiety?
Hi everyone,
I (M27) have been constantly experiencing some physical symptoms for a little over two months now, and I would like to hear your opinions on whether you think they could be related to anxiety.
Most of the time, I live with a persistent feeling of being unwell, although nothing very specific. The more noticeable symptoms, which I realize tend to appear more often at night, include dizziness, a heavy-headed sensation, chills (especially in my legs), and cold sweats. My nights have become quite distressing; I notice that the symptoms intensify when I am about to fall asleep or 1–2 hours after I fall asleep.
I went to the doctor and had a complete blood test, as well as an ECG, and everything came back normal.
I recently started my PhD and also began therapy last month. I am concerned about how much longer I will be able to cope with this, as it has been taking away my peace of mind and affecting what I consider most sacred: my night’s sleep.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or is currently going through this? If so, how did you deal with it? Should I seek more specialized help to determine whether this is indeed anxiety?
Thank you in advance for your help.
