Hello from an older American Girl
Hi! I'm Nienna. I'm a long time fan of American Girl but the owner of only one. My family was poor, and that remains the case, as I'm unemployed and autistic. I sometimes earn some bit money during election years working for the county's registrar of voters.
My doll is a Samantha, from about 1997. My mom bought her second hand shortly after Christmas from a family that had purchased her for their 9 year old daughter, who didn't want it. It was advertised in the newspaper, and my mother got it for me. I was 15, and so she's still in excellent condition, with all of her accessories.
I am hoping to be able to buy a custom doll at some point. I lost the vision in my right eye two years ago, and it's been changing color from its original light brown to now sort of greyish with no pupil.
I was stoked to see that custom dolls have the option to have eyes of two different colors!
At any rate, I'll link my creation, I love the fact that she also wears a slouchy hat (which I know how to knit) and comes with headphones! And other than the fact that I don't wear distressed jeans, she wears my style!
