The dad and sister of the girl I'm dating told her they want my full name, age, address, birthday and phone number before she visits me. Am I crazy for not wanting to give all of that?
So, I (30M) have been dating her (25F) for about 6 months in a semi long distance relationship (About 2.5 hour drive)
I have driven to her area multiple times and we have a great time together, now we have planned her coming to visit me next Saturday. However, she called me today and said that when she told her dad and sister she was going to visit the guy she's dating, they told her that they don't want her going unless I call the dad and sister directly and give them my full name, age, birthday, address and phone number.
On one hand, I understand the desire to be protective of your daughter and younger sister, but I feel all the information requested is a bit intrusive as I'm usually very cautious about who I give my personal information to.
I asked her why she couldn't just do location sharing with her phone but she said her dad is too old to understand it.
I don't necessarily have a huge problem giving it out, but I wanted to get some outside opinions about if its actually necessary or if it's overstepping?
TL;DR girl I've been dating semi long distance for about 6 months told me her dad and sister want all of my personal information before she visits me.
