Prepping to finish my walnut plywood media console

I’m prepping to finish the media console I have been working on the last few months. It is made mostly of walnut plywood and a solid walnut for the base and faceplates. I plan on using walrus oil furniture oil and furniture butter. I have lightly sanded down in preparation but fear I will sand down the plywood veneer too far. Is there anything I should consider or tips as I prepare?
