Anora losing to The Brutalist is quite possibly the single biggest joke in Oscar history

Not only was the brutalist, quite clearly a superior movie, in every regard, but Anora was not special in any way. It was passively entertaining, in the same way any middle of the road drama or rom com is.

The Brutalist was a towering achievement, and unlike anything I had ever seen. The emotion, heart and thematic depth resonated for weeks after viewing. I forgot about Anora shortly after I watched it.

I can only surmise it got the praise and awards it did simply because of its subject matter being politically charged. Really disappointing, it should be about quality.
