Former caregivers, how'd you handle your time as a caregiver on your resume?

I'm a now former caregiver looking to return to my pre-caregiver career after a "hiatus" of a few years, or at the very least return to a non-caregiver job. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to handle this rather significant gap in my resume. Those of you that have successfully returned to some semblance of your career, how'd you handle it?
