Trouble burning onto a CD

Hii never burned a CD before don’t judge if i’m doing it wrong please! I am using windows media player all my files are mp3 files and i’m trying to burn onto a CD-R disc, It seems like they are able to burn it say burn complete and it ejects the CD but once i try to use the CD in the car it doesn’t do anything, and my CD player says error. Any help would be greatly appreciated
