Rethinking my farrier. Am I overthinking it?

A few days ago my farrier was working on my horse and the conversation of other pets came up. Skipping to the part that matters, he told me he doesn’t like cats. He said, “cats are good for two things: chew toys & target practice.”

At my obvious disgust, he quickly recovered saying that now that he has a cat, he feels differently about THAT cat. But not cats in general.

Look, he’s not taking care of my cats nor will he ever. And frankly, he does a good job at taking care of my horse. I just keep thinking about this conversation and thinking how gross that was to say, and if I should keep him as my farrier.
