Hi everyone, I'm a first-time dog owner and I've recently encountered a small problem that I hope you can help me with. I have a super cute little poodle, just over a year old, and she's very affectionate. Every time I lie down, she quickly jumps onto the bed, snuggles up to me, and cuddles beside me. At first, I thought this was very cute and heartwarming, after all, she just wants to be close to me.

However, recently she peed on the bed! 😩 To be honest, it really upset me. I know she didn't do it on purpose; it was probably because she was too excited or wanted to be close to me, but the problem is, the bed is my private space, and I like to keep it clean and tidy. And after she peed on the bed, I felt like this was a big problem, completely crossing my boundaries.

I've tried putting her dog bed next to the bed, hoping she would get used to staying in her own bed, but every time I lie down, she runs back up onto my bed. I know she doesn't understand what I mean, and every time I chase her off the bed, she looks at me with a sad face, which makes me feel a little guilty. 😔

So, I want to ask everyone, how can I gently make her understand that the bed is my private space without hurting her feelings? Are there any methods to prevent her from peeing on the bed again? I'm very confused and don't know what to do.
