Authentication accuracy

I'm somewhat hesitant to pull the trigger on any NB pair with a high resell value because I don't fully trust the accuracy of authentication considering the vast majority of pairs that are resold are Nike or Jordan's. How accurate can they be in authenticating pairs that aren't seen nearly as often? Seems like reps would be easier to pass. Does anyone else have this issue or am I over thinking?
