Why would epic ruin fortnite like this with Arc taking so many players?

Peoples suggestions were pretty clear

• Everyone loves shockwaves
• The sword melee ( movement only )
• Remove the Arc Lightning gun

but instead they did the opposite, and now movement sucks, everyones walking 10,000 steps and theres Just big groups of bots?

Why does epic Intentionally do what the players don’t want, wont the share holders be annoyed when the numbers fall and profits are down?

It doesn’t make sense from any perspective, it’s like they are trying to encourage people to quit and with Arc stronger then ever they really can’t afford low numbers right now.

Would love some theory’s as to why they do this
