blocked tear duct?

hi all.. posting for my husband. he has intermittent ocular pain. He describes it as an ocular headache, pretty intense only one eye at a time it’s never both eyes at the same time. GP & eyd both say it's blocked tear ducts, recommend drops etc. From what I read, it causes pain in the corner of the eye the tear duct. does this condition actually cause ocular pain?
