Forget the “no double texting” rule it only benefits the ghoster
If someone ghosts you, the “no double texting” rule is not for you. It’s for them. Ghosting is usually about: avoiding communication fear of confrontation keeping options open while talking to someone else Silence lets ghosters keep control and excuses (“I didn’t see it,” “I was busy”). I’m 23F and got ghosted at the start of a relationship I really believed in. It hurt. So I stopped playing by rules that made me feel small. I acted as if he never ghosted me. I didn’t text about him. Never confronted. Never begged. I just yapped about everyday things random voice notes, daily nonsense, like using the chat as a diary. Sometimes one a day, sometimes more, sometimes none. Being annoying helped me more than silence ever did. It was even fun. Why? Because it takes the power back: no plausible deniability no “I didn’t see it” excuses if they block you, that’s a clear choice You don’t want to be with a ghoster. You don’t want to be with someone who avoids communication. You don’t want to be with someone who keeps options open. Repeat that. This isn’t for everyone but taking up space instead of disappearing healed me way faster than following a rule that only protects people who already left.
I made my ex uncomfortable with that and thats good. Let’s make ghosting uncomfortable for them, not for us.
