Can good DJS surgeons usually handle maxillary expansion during surgery instead of doing MARPE first?

I’m an adult male with a narrow palate and dental compensation. My orthodontist is recommending MARPE, but I eventually plan on getting double jaw surgery (Le Fort I + BSSO).

Before I commit to MARPE, I’m trying to understand something:

Do experienced jaw surgeons usually handle transverse maxillary expansion during double jaw surgery (segmental Le Fort or surgical expansion), or is MARPE often truly necessary beforehand?
