Why do gen z get boomers mixed up with gen xconstantly?

It's like they forget a whole other generation happed after boomers. I saw a comment today that said boomers aren't retiring and it pissed me off because. Most boomer are retired or dead or in politics..Both my grandparents are late boomers('50 & '55) and they are both well past retirement hell my grandpa retired in '97.
