Lightning Lane / Rider Swap Question

Disneyland

Planning a Disneyland trip with my wife, 2 kids (one old enough for thrill rides, one baby who can't ride most attractions). We each have Lightning Lane Multi Pass.

I had a question about Lighting Lane / Rider Swap and i wanted to check to see if anyone has experience with this. Not trying to game/circumvent system, but just wanted to see if this was allowed...

The Basic Pattern:

  • Adult A + older kid book the same ride together (e.g., Matterhorn 9:30am)
  • Adult B books a different ride solo (e.g., Space Mountain 9:45am)
  • Adult A + older kid ride their LL, Adult B waits with baby and collects Rider Swap
  • Adult B + older kid use Rider Swap to ride Matterhorn (older kid rides twice)
  • Adult B rides their LL solo on Space mountain, Adult A waits with baby and collects Rider Swap
  • Adult A + older kid use Rider Swap to ride Space
  • Repeat pattern all day

The Theory: By staggering our 3 LL bookings across different rides instead of all booking the same ride, we bypass the 2-hour cooldown (since each person books their next LL right after tapping in). Plus Rider Swap lets our older kid ride everything twice while we rotate baby duty.

Is this doable/allowed? Is this a Lighting Lane grey area? Curious if anyone has done this.
