Why does my friends view of everyone on our server look weird?

He showed me a picture on discord that had me and my friends in it on our server (not realm, + we have no add-ons, it's also Bedrock) and he can only see our heads and our shields but nothing else and anytime we get near him it kicks him out of the game. He's on Xbox 1
