The Black Company Fall Off

So I just finished Lady's book in the black company. I got to say, I'm finding fewer reasons to keep going with this series.

I understand evolutions and what not but Black Company book 5 was one of the hardest slogs I have ever slogged through.

Does the series "Come back?"

I am not disappointed in the change of narration, but the elements of the book itself just feels so, what are we doing here?

From context clues, I assume book 6 takes place in the same time that book 5 does from another perspective in that moment in history, but from where I am right now, it's just not enjoyable anymore.

I did not post this in the black company subreddit because I do not want spoilers, so if this has already been rehashed, I apologize.
