Nostalgia + Envy

I'm going to miss this show 🥹. And I hate that every gen has just a few shows that they can be nostalgic about because they started watching as kids or teens.

Plus I'm ngl I envy the 80s so much. Yea racism and sexism was big for sure but if it wasnt, the 80s were such a beautiful time. The colors. The socialization. The community. We weren't overpopulated as a planet. And people had average jobs that could buy them homes. Forget about that. I just envy this pre-social media and internet world so much. Like in the scenes where the radio show is on or they are tinkering with science related skills. I would always think of how readily available all this is now. AI can do so much. And we have SO SO SO many people in tech and STEM now that it is no longer a unique skill? Just like creative writing and storytelling.

I dont know. I just envy how things were. And I wish I lived in a community oriented town like that. Or had a friend group like that. Ofc it is TV and made to look perfect. But I swear I hear so many Gen X and boomers say they really enjoyed their childhood and youth. You do not hear that from gen-Z. I feel so unimportant in this world. Not sure if others do? Like no matter what job we have or what we do. We're 1 in 8 billion or so. I doubt people back then felt like that when they couldn't see people everywhere on Tiktok, and have access to the internet. And when jobs were readily available, as well as homes. When luxury was art work and expensive bags or cars, not groceries, housing, and a basic car. We dont even have pensions now but yea. 🙃🫠

I'm really gonna miss the show. Shows like this let you escape into a different world for some time.
