People who trade someone just to test them on values

I’ve been traded multiple times today by different people who’ve been trying to “test” me to see if I know values/see if I’ll take an op for my pet.

What I mean by this is I’ll have a neon narwhal in my trade stand and someone will trade me a neon slightly over and some other stuff and be like “am I over?” I tell them to take out the adds that make them really over and that I’d do it for the first slightly op pet.

Then they’ll decline and be like “I was testing you I was really over xx”. I just don’t understand why you’d trade me in the first place if you don’t even want my pet and waste my time.

I understand not wanting to overpay but like why are you wasting our time just to test me. I think everyone would be lying if they said they didn’t want a small overpay every once in awhile for a pet. It’s extremely annoying to me because I’ve been overpaying for really good demand stuff so the only way I’m profiting is by getting slight ops for lower demand/value pets.

It’s the same way with people who try to flex too. It’s a big waste of time and it’s genuinely not funny at all. I know it’s such a non issue but it’s genuinely annoying when I’m trying to get pets traded and people just do stuff to troll/test me.
