This one is for the working moms
My baby (toddler?!) is almost 13 months. I am still breastfeeding/pumping at work. Originally my goal was 1 year. Once I hit a year I realized I don’t have a desire to stop, nor does my son. Plus I feel it does wonders for his immunity as a daycare kid. I decided to go until 18 months as it’ll get us through flu season and I want some time to have my body to myself before thinking about baby number 2.
My question for the working moms is how long did you breastfeed/pump? I KNOW this shouldn’t matter, but a coworker made a comment to me about “when I’m going to wrap them up already”. Yes - offensive, but it’s their personality so I didn’t take offense, but I do question if people are judging a bit. I have my own office so I close my door to pump with a sign (because people constantly knocked). I’m the first office in the hallway so people constantly walk by my office. I also keep my milk in our halls mini fridge so everyone knows. When I decided to go until June even my husband was shocked like what?! So long?! He’s obviously supportive though and grateful.
TLDR; working moms - how long did you breastfeed and did you start to feel judgement at a certain point?
