Can I take a screenshot of PayPal app cash deposit barcode or does it need to be 'live'?

I want to do a cash deposit at my local Walmart but the Internet/wifi there is so awful it's difficult to consistently load up the app and navigate all the way through to getting a cash deposit barcode without the app/Internet constantly crashing or failing to load. Can I generate a barcode before I walk in the store and take a screenshot of that to use, and it will still work, or does it need to be 'live' on the app?
