[All] I just purchased a pretty hefty haul of Zelda games on handheld systems

Discussion

As someone in my 30's who grew up with the GBA and DS and had them both the day they launched, I somehow missed out on most of the handheld Zelda games for one reason or the other when they released on these consoles. I went through a bit of a Zelda/Nintendo renaissance during the the Switch 1 and now with the Switch 2 and I'm going back and playing all of the games that I managed to miss out on.

So I purchased a Gameboy SP AGS-101 (the model with the better backlit screen) as well as a repro copy of "The Minish Cap". In the past few years the art style of that game has really jumped out at me and I've been wanting to play it since it seems to get a lot of high praise from Zelda fans.

I also purchased a Nintendo DSi (regular size) because from what I can gather, it seems to be the definitive way of playing DS games. I held one that someone had in line when waiting to pre order my Switch 2 and it's been on my mind ever since just because of how premium it still feels for a system that released in 2009. It doesn't bother me either that it doesn't have the GBA slot because I would rather play those on my GBA anyways. As you might expect, I also purchased a copy of The Phantom Hourglass *AND* Spirit Tracks (don't ask how much I paid for them lol). Now I'm sure one of you are going to tell me about the patch that allows you to play Phantom Hourglass with the dpad and while I was tempted to use that, I'm a bit of a purist and would much rather play the game in the intended way most people did at launch for better or for worse. To give myself the best experience possible, I ended up buying a few retractible metallic styluses to have a more comfortable time using the styluses. I bought similar ones for when I played through "Kid Icarus: Uprising on my 3DS" and I found that it made using the stylus a non-issues since it was much more comfortable, dare I say I even enjoyed it for the novelty aspect of how exciting it was to have a system with a touchscreen that used a stylus back in 2004.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my excitement to play these games finally and to ask which of these are you favorites if you had to rank them? I suppose a more interesting comparison would be which one do you like the most out of the two, Phantom Hourglass or Spirit Tracks?
