Combining evo with UCL upgrades

How do you combine an Evo with UCL upgrades to make sure that you get all the upgrades without it resetting? One time I evoed a card (finished the evo), it got the uecl upgrade and a 6th playstyle came and replaced my old 6th one. Obviously I want to avoid that.

To be specific, I'm looking at the simeone card. He has a playstyle + and 4, 5 playstyles. If I evo him to 7 playstyles and the remaining games go well, he will get three extra playstyles.
