Character Won’t Stop Moving

Hi, I saw there was a post about this 2 years ago but didn’t have any solutions. While playing minecraft, both single player and in servers/realms, when I stop pressing W my character keeps walking for 10-15 seconds. I know it’s not my connection since I have played in multiple places and have roommates haven’t had the same problems. My sticky keys are turned off as well. I just was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and has been able to fix it? It’s so annoying because I have died walking off cliffs and in the nether because I can’t stop moving forward.
