Does this text come off too strong or cringey for someone I've only been on 2 dates with?

Went on a 2nd date with a guy last night and he just texted me at 6PM today saying "hey last night was pretty fun!". I was thinking of saying "hey I was just thinking about you ! Ya it was :)" or should I say "hey I was just thinking about *that* today"? Does the first one come off too strong? My texts aren't usually sappy or cringey..
