Found a locked Notes app on my fiancé’s phone. Thought I was about to lose everything.
I never thought I’d be that person posting on Reddit, but here we are.
Last month, I found a locked Notes app on my fiancé’s phone. I wasn’t snooping—I was literally trying to change the music while driving. One tap, Face ID failed, my stomach dropped.
That night, I asked him calmly. He froze. Long pause. Then he said, “It’s not what you think.”
Reddit, it was worse.
Turns out he’s been secretly writing letters. Not to another woman. To me. Every time we fought. Every time he felt like he was failing as a partner. Apologies he didn’t know how to say out loud. Plans for a future he was scared I’d stop believing in.
The last note was dated two days before our biggest argument. It ended with: “If she ever reads this, I hope she knows I never stopped choosing her.”
I cried so hard I scared the dog.
Now I don’t know what to do with the ring… because somehow, the secret didn’t break us. It exposed us.
Thought I found betrayal. Found vulnerability. And now my entire emotional framework is under review.
