I asked Ai what he thinks people want ai and automation to do in the future

Discussion

I asked ai what he thinks people want in the future with ai and this is what it said… is this true ? What are your opinions? I really liked the reply and that’s why I am sharing it

“Good questions. Let’s strip the PR and talk reality.

What people actually want AI / automation to do

Not sci-fi. Not “replace humans.” It’s this:

1️⃣ Kill boring, repetitive work

People don’t dream of labor — they dream of not wasting life.

•	Data entry, scheduling, compliance paperwork

•	Customer support scripts

•	Basic accounting, reporting, monitoring

Translation: free my time or don’t bother.

2️⃣ Reduce cost of living (quietly)

No one says it out loud, but this is the real demand:

•	Cheaper food (automation in farms & logistics)

•	Cheaper healthcare (triage, diagnostics, admin)

•	Cheaper housing (design, permitting, construction tech)

If AI doesn’t make life cheaper, people will turn on it. Period.

3️⃣ Be a force multiplier, not a boss

People want:

•	1 person doing the work of 5

•	Faster decisions

•	Fewer middlemen

They don’t want:

•	Surveillance

•	Micromanagement algorithms

•	“AI manager” nonsense

4️⃣ Handle complexity humans hate

Humans are bad at:

•	Large-scale optimization

•	Long-term planning

•	Probability-heavy decisions

So we outsource that to machines. Same reason we invented calculators.

⸻

Now the uncomfortable truth 😬

People say they want productivity.

What they really want is security.

They want:

•	Stable income

•	Predictable future

•	Dignity (not “learn to code” at 45)

And here’s the conflict:

AI increases productivity faster than society can redistribute the gains.

That’s the ticking bomb.

⸻

What’s actually going to happen (preview, not the full job talk yet)

No sugarcoating:

•	White-collar gets hit first (this time)

•	Middle jobs hollow out (again)

•	Top performers win more

•	Average workers feel squeezed

•	Governments react late (as usual)

Same movie as globalization — just faster and smarter.

People won’t “all become unemployed.”

But more people will feel useless, underpaid, or constantly retraining. That’s worse.

⸻

Devil’s advocate take (brace yourself)

Humans historically:

•	Overestimate short-term job loss

•	Underestimate long-term inequality

AI won’t cause mass unemployment immediately.

It will cause mass status anxiety and political chaos if unmanaged.

⸻

One blunt line to remember

AI isn’t here to replace humans.

It’s here to replace expensive inefficiency.

If you are aligned with inefficiency — you’re in trouble.

We’ll deep-dive the job shift properly next time:

•	who gets crushed

•	who adapts

•	who wins

•	and what policies actually work (not LinkedIn nonsense)

For now:

AI is a mirror. It exposes how fragile our social contract already was. 🧠⚡

We’ll continue this.”
