Chinchilla

Our chinchilla has had watery eyes since this morning - not actual tears streaming down, but moisture around the eye area.

Two weeks ago, she had the same issue with the exact same eye: tearing and swelling. The vet prescribed eye drops, which helped resolve the problem. We had a follow-up appointment last Thursday, and according to the vet, everything looked good. She did mention the chinchilla’s teeth were slightly too long, but noted it wasn’t relevant at that point.

During that visit, she also prescribed beeswax for dry paws (which we discovered afterward). We only used it Thursday through Friday and then stopped. The eye issue started again on Sunday.
