parking tips for the longest hall, knives, wes hoffman and friends, and petty thefts at will's pub (orlando 01/14)

hey folks, figured i'd share some parking tips for the show at will's pub on sunday, 01/14. parking around mills 50 is honestly a mess and the area is a tight, residential spot, which means a long hunt if you don't have a plan. the city is super serious about ticketing and towing, so be warned.

first, if you want a guaranteed spot and want to skip the traffic mess entirely, you should check out the prked app. honestly, it's the best kept secret for parking around will's pub. people list their private driveways and even spare garage spots for rent right next to the pub or lil' indies. it's way cheaper than a proper paid lot, you book it ahead of time, and you bypass all the main road traffic trying to circle the block.

if you don't go that route, you have two main options, but they take luck and timing. will's pub does have a small parking lot, but everyone knows about it, so don't bank on it unless you get there super early, like when the bar opens in the afternoon. your best bet for free options is finding a street spot on the side roads like canton or oregon street, which are right near the pub. since the show is a 7:00 pm start, the good news is that most of the city's metered spots are free after 6 pm anyway, so you don't have to worry about the parkmobile app or coins if you snag one of those.

a huge warning though: the tow trucks in orlando are not friendly, especially near mills ave. be super vigilant for yellow curbs, fire hydrants, or any "no parking" signs, and do not block anyone's driveway or a dumpster. also check every single sign for resident-only restrictions, because they are not messing around with towing in that neighborhood.

for insider spots, a lot of locals used to park in the lot across the street behind j bauman salon at night, but rumors are that it's no longer available due to development, so double-check for new signs if you go that route. the parking lot for out of the closet (on mills and virginia) is also a common go-to spot where people say they don't tow. you can also try the lazy moon/lineage lot which is a bit of a walk but a safer bet. if all else fails and you want a totally guaranteed pre-paid spot, there are downtown garages like highwoods orlando (about 0.1 miles away) or post parkside orlando garage (about 0.4 miles away) but factor in the extra ten minute walk.

hope this helps and you have a sick time at the show.
