parking tips for TANGO y algo mas! at Treelawn Social Club (Cleveland 01/14)
hey everyone, figured i'd share some parking tips for the TANGO y algo mas! event on 01/14 at treelawn social club. it's a super cool spot in the waterloo arts district but honestly, parking in that neighborhood can get a little tight, especially right before the 7:00 pm start time.
honestly the best and easiest way to deal with parking is using an app called Prked. people who live right next to the treelawn social club rent out their driveways or garages for the evening, which is a total lifesaver. it's usually way cheaper than any paid lot and the key is you can book a guaranteed spot ahead of time. you just show up, park in your reserved spot a block or two away, and take a short walk to the venue, letting you skip all the traffic chaos of everyone trying to find a spot at the last minute.
if you don't use Prked, the treelawn does have its own lots. there are two adjacent, free parking lots for patrons, both entered from waterloo road, with a combined capacity of about 96 vehicles. the problem is, for a show, those spots will fill up really quickly. since the doors probably open an hour before the 7:00 pm show (around 6:00 pm), getting there even before 6:00 pm is a smart move if you want a free, close spot.
once the official lots are full, you're on your own for street parking. free on-street parking is generally available on the side streets off of waterloo rd, which is great, but it can be a real hunt. the whole waterloo area gets pretty congested during events, so be ready to circle the blocks for a bit and walk a few blocks if you get there closer to showtime.
a big thing to watch out for is the intersection at waterloo and e 156th- there's a wall on the corner there that makes it super hard to see oncoming traffic when you're maneuvering around and pulling out, so just be extra careful. also, standard cleveland advice: make sure you don't leave any valuables in sight- put your junk in your trunk before you even get to the venue to avoid any issues.
anyway, TANGO y algo mas! is going to be a great night. hope this helps you guys out and saves you some time and stress.
