I’ve Just been told that the funding for my AP post will be ending at the end of March and I am terrified
I’ve been an AP in the NHS for over a year now and have just been told the contract will end on march 31. It has always been a temporary contract but my supervisor and service lead made it seem that it was really likely to be renewed. I was too naive and just assumed it would be since it has once already but last Friday I was told it’s not going to be. It took me 3 years to get this post and I’m so scared and stressed about not finding a job again. I’ve been casually looking whats around for the past few months and find that there are barely any AP posts going, way less than when I was last applying for jobs. I feel that I’m going to be back to square one and I’m scared I’ll be jobless for months. I can’t afford that at all.
My supervisor says I’m eligible for the re-deployment process, but I’m skeptical of it working out for me. Has anyone here experienced this before? What was the re-deployment process like? Has anyone gone to do somethjng else after being an AP because they couldn’t find another job?
Thank you
