Annual flower exhibition is destruction of Botanical garden

Gapasapa(Chitchat)

I have visited the Botanical Garden several times, and it has always been a beautiful, serene place.

Recently, I visited during the annual flower exhibition, and as a nature lover, I was deeply disheartened by the extent of damage caused.

Visitors were everywhere—some climbing fences, others stepping over flower pots, plucking flowers, and even throwing stones and sticks at the tamarind tree. It felt as though people work all year only for everything to be destroyed within these four or five days. I also noticed members of the garden staff constantly picking up trash that visitors had carelessly thrown around. In my personal opinion, the annual flower exhibition should be shifted to an alternative venue such as the Baramunda Ravan Podi Ground, the exhibition ground, or a similar open space. This would allow the event to continue without causing such harm to the Botanical Garden.
