Some questions on Spec precision mawl clones
I've got a few questions on these after looking at some reviews they seem to be considered a reliable clone so I’d like more opinions on that. are they reliable enough for use on a real rifle not airsoft(the models that they advertise as 5.56 rated not the airsoft only one)
im considering them for a couple reasons, mostly budget, id like to be sub 1000$ if possible, its not going to be a hard use going to war system, night shooting in general is not legal in my area except in very specific scenarios so it’s not going to see a ton of use but I still want the capability even just from a preppers mindset since I’m getting into night vision and I’m interested in this stuff as a hobby To(lasers are legal in my country many are sold domestically). I just want something that’s reliable and holds zero and can’t really justify dropping multiple thousands on a laser. ITAR is the other limiting factor as I am not american so I’m pretty sure the real MAWL as well as several other laser options cannot be exported to me. other lasers I’m considering are the sms trinity or holosun iris 3 but I do like the ergonomic’s of the MAWL which is why I’m leaning to the spec precision version of it if they do in fact work.
my next question is on mounting and switch ports. what ports does it use for switches? i can’t find any info on this online other than a ai overview that I don’t trust to be accurate. I know that with the mawl’s design a switch isn’t often needed but my rifle has an 18” barrel. if I front mount the laser I cannot reach the buttons so my options are to either run a dual switch for it or just move the entire laser back to more the middle of my rail which I don’t see why that wouldn’t work to it just might look odd. or would I have issues with the diffused illumination mode doing this?
