parking tips for carpenters legacy at v theater at planet hollywood (las vegas 01/14)
hey folks, seeing carpenters legacy on 01/14 is going to be great, but honestly, parking at planet hollywood (ph) is always a bit of a challenge with the strip traffic and the walk through the miracle mile shops to get to the v theater. figured i'd share a few tips.
first thing, check out prked. this is one of those apps where people rent out their driveways or private parking spots that are right next to the venue. you can often find a spot way cheaper than the casino rate, skip a bunch of the harmon avenue traffic getting into the main garage, and the walk is usually shorter and more direct. it's worth a look to snag something close.
now for the main ph parking. you'll want to enter the garage from harmon ave, as turning straight off las vegas blvd is a nightmare. self-parking is expensive, usually around $20 daily or up to $23 for 3 to 24 hours, and you don't get in-and-out privileges. valet is forty bucks, which is a massive jump but it saves you the long walk through the mall to get to the theater entrance. if you are a caesars rewards member with platinum, diamond, or seven stars status, you get free self-parking and valet, so flash that card. nevada residents actually don't get the free parking perk at planet hollywood, which is a bummer.
if you want a cheaper casino alternative that is a short walk, try pre-booking a spot nearby. the harmon surface lot (3725 s las vegas blvd) is often available for around $14-$15 and is only a 3 to 9 minute walk to the venue. the paris las vegas self-parking is another option that can be around $15 for two hours, and it's also pretty close. you can also look at the showcase mall garage.
the show is at 5:00 pm, which is right as rush hour starts and before the strip gets busy for dinner and evening shows, so traffic on the strip and even on harmon ave will be heavy. plan to get there at least an hour early if you are driving yourself. getting out after the show will take a while too, especially from the ph garage, so patience is key.
hope this helps you save a few bucks and avoid some stress! have fun at the show.
