Windows classic shut down dialog - how to get it back

Because some id!ot decided to make it complicated (used to be a simple exe or call) I had to create a VBS for something as simple as a classic shut down menu.

Should you ever need this here it is:

  1. Open text editor
  2. Copy and paste all of this:

dim objShell

set objShell = CreateObject("shell.application")

objshell.ShutdownWindows

set objShell = nothing

  1. Save as Shutdown.vbs (icon should change from a txt to a vbs one, if not rename properly)

  2. Done

You can now put this on your taskbar, on your desktop, add a shortcut or hot key combo to it whatever you want. Works on Windows 10, 11 and will probably work in the future as well.

Not sure in what group to put it so I left it on my profile. Guess Google will guide people in need to this post at some point.
