Should I split my monthly savings 3 ways?
I am 28 and make £25k a year. My take home is £1680 a month. I have a mortgage on a flat and my employer and me pay 4% each into my pension (the highest they’ll go). The pension pot currently has £8704
I try to save 20% (£336) a month. I don’t always manage to save exactly that but I do try my best. This goes into a cash ISA which currently has £5680
I also pay £10 a month into a Monzo S&S ISA which currently has £261. I also still have the lifetime ISA which I used to buy the flat and this has £140. I chose not to close it as I thought the 25% bonus would be a great way to save until I was 60, but I haven’t paid into it since we bought the flat. I’ve been wondering if it’d make sense to even out all 3 ISAs (£2027 each) and then going forward split my monthly savings 3 ways, so £112 in each pot
Is this a good idea? Is there something else I should do? I’m kind of thinking that the S&S and lifetime can gain that extra money and then the cash ISA can be there for emergencies (it has unlimited withdrawals, but luckily I’ve not had any reason to withdraw from it yet)
I grew up very poor and I’ve never had this much money in my life. Most of my friends are terrible with money so I’m not quite sure what to do 😅 any advice would be appreciated
