About Liberta's skin - can't they just show it us?

As a huge Liberta fan, this whole BS about her skin being too much for their playerbase really has me thinking. Can't they just show the concept arts to us and let us decide whether we want it as is or not? Based on the follow up post of the devs, they seem to be assuming it was too extreme but what does that even mean? They seemed assert it won't suit our tastes because its fetish focused but then can't they just have a poll showing us the concepts (possibly) and letting us vote whether we want a redesign or not? Right now both sides are under assumption - the devs think they need to tone it down for it suit our tastes, and we just want to know why because we think we want it.
