Just because I have a beard doesn't mean I want to be objectified for it
Maybe a bit of a niche pet peeve... but I honestly hate when random women come up and ask to feel my beard. Its the equivalent of if I walked up to them and asked if I could feel up their boobs... It happens surprisingly often. And demographically its usually some drunk woman who's 10-20 years older than me and that just makes it even more uncomfortable.
Like... I've never met you before, and you want to put your hands on my face? No thanks. I don't have this because to be a fashion statement, I have it because it grows fast and I'd rather neaten it up once a week than shave every day. I'm flattered that you find it attractive, but its really offputting to have it be the first thing you mention when I meet you.
I understand that its not quite the same as what women deal with, I don't feel unsafe because of it... but at the same time I do have a slightly better understanding of what women go through as far as feeling like men are only approaching them because of how they look. I'm not trying to make this a conversation about double standards or sexism... I think that the objectification and feelings of safety due to that exist on different levels between men and women... but I gotta say, I simply don't like strangers wanting to touch my face before I've even met them.
