I grew up in rural Georgia, surrounded by deep woods that seemed to go on forever. Our house sat on the edge of this massive stretch of forest, and as a kid, I never thought much about what might be lurking out there in the darkness.

One weekend when I was young, I was staying up late watching Nick At Nite in the living room. The rest of my family had gone to bed, and I was alone with just the glow of the TV lighting up the room. At some point, I got that prickly, uncomfortable feeling that someone was watching me. You know the one—where the hairs on the back of your neck stand up and your stomach drops.

I looked toward the window, and that's when I saw him. A silhouette of a man, perched impossibly high in the branches of the trees outside. He was just sitting there, completely still, staring directly at me through the glass. I couldn't make out any features, just the dark outline of a person where no person should be.

I immediately ran to get my dad. He grabbed a flashlight and went outside to investigate, searching the treeline and the yard. He found nothing. No footprints, no broken branches, no sign that anyone had been there at all. He told me I must have imagined it or seen a shadow, and I wanted to believe him.

I went to bed that night trying to convince myself it was nothing. But then I saw him again—this time right outside my bedroom window. He was standing there, close enough that I could see his face pressed near the glass. He looked me directly in the eye, slowly raised one finger to his lips in a "shush" gesture, and then turned and disappeared into the woods.

I've never been able to sleep near a window since that night. I still don't know who he was or what he wanted, but the image of that finger pressed to his lips is burned into my memory forever.

I actually made a short video visualizing this experience with some of the specific details of what I saw that night. If anyone wants to see what it looked like, here's the link: [https://youtu.be/xcagwk3fQIs?si=qMfD83sNfP1CXKpE](https://youtu.be/xcagwk3fQIs?si=qMfD83sNfP1CXKpE)

Has anyone else had an experience like this? Where someone was watching you, and you just knew they wanted you to stay quiet?
