First timers

Planning to take my teenagers skiing for the first time in 2026. We're in the southeast and don't plan to be experts or risk-takers. Just looking for the wholesome fun I had as a kid at Massanutten. Is it possible to rent everything we'll need? Can the average teen learn enough to have fun in one week or will it be bunny slopes only? Also, any hidden gems that aren't flashy, but might be cheaper? Thanks!
