Why is talking to women so difficult?

I was reading at a Cafe and this woman sat down at a table nearby and started writing away in her notebook. She was gorgeous (and way out of ny league, but not the point). She was there for like an hour and I was trying to work up the nerve to say something. We even shared a smile at one point. She got up to leave and I panicked and tried to say 'excuse me' but its noisy in the Cafe and she didn't hear me and left 💀 WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT. ALL I WANTED TO DO WAS TELL HER SHE WAS PRETTY. SOISHDNDJKDH So mad at myself rn.
